  • Summary

We begin with an examination of unconscious bias and strategies for being aware of one’s own unconscious bias. With that foundation, we examine the role of the coaching process, discuss fundamentals of building rapport with coachee, explore how to listen, and examine how to be present in the moment to listen to the coachee while observing their nonverbal communication. This course will identify the qualities and skills of an inclusive coach, safe practices that are developed in the coaching relationship, flexibility and adaptability in the approach to coaching, and communication.

This course examines appropriate reinforcement techniques throughout the helping process, understanding of a nonjudgmental approach in the coaching process, and how to model acceptance, facilitate openness, and model self-awareness.

Following this program, you will be able to:

    • The coaching process, the impact of questions, and listening skills; and
    • The role of fairness, belonging, and unconscious bias in the coaching process.
