A four-week long journey to elevate your impact with students.

Use AI to boost your advising game this school year. Alongside career services peers from around the nation you will:

  • Learn to leverage AI in your students’ career journeys
  • Find out how to leverage AI to make sense of your career center data;
  • Build your confidence with AI by refining basic AI knowledge;
  • Take a step-by-step walk-through of various AI apps and create your own bot; and
  • Practice and master using AI, as it pertains to your specific career center.

This AI Bootcamp preps you for the ever-changing AI landscape.


Goal

Empower career services professionals to optimize AI in their advising practice and career center management, while also building relationships with other innovative career leaders.

Andragogy

During each session, participants will:

  • Get to see all techniques demonstrated live;
  • Practice these techniques together in small cohorts that they'll return to each week; and
  • Leave with homework to apply in their day-to-day leadership and coaching experiences.

Outcomes

Each participant who successfully completes the program will walk away with:

  • A NACE AI in Career Services Badge and Certificate of Completion from NACE;
  • A complete library of prompts they can draw upon for future use; and
  • A network of peers they can continue to meet with virtually and in-person at future NACE events.

As AI technology continues to evolve rapidly, so too will this program. The topics and tools listed represent the minimum content participants will receive. To ensure the most up-to-date and high-impact learning experience, additional content, tools, or sessions may be introduced in the weeks leading up to and during the program. Program

This four-week program offers weekly both live (synchronous) group didactic sessions (1 hr 15 mins) and asynchronous hands-on practice (1 hr) as follows:

Week 1: Career Center Management

  • Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Use AI tools like ChatGPT for data analysis and trends identification.
  • Digital Technology: Learn to use AI for data analysis and content creation.
  • Professionalism/Work Ethic: Understand the capabilities and limitations of AI tools with an emphasis on data protection.

Week 2: Career Exploration

  • Career Management: Use AI to power and facilitate career exploration and craft individualized career guidance/plans.
  • Global/Intercultural Fluency: Address the diverse needs of students, including those interested in international careers.
  • Communication: Enhance LinkedIn connection requests and crafting personalized messages.

Week 3: Job Applications

  • Communication: Improve resumes and LinkedIn profiles, focus on authentic and clear personal branding.
  • Digital Technology: Utilize AI tools for keyword matching in job applications and build career bots.
  • Career Management: Develop strategies for job application processes and understand the ethical use of AI in creating resumes.

Week 4: Interviews

  • Oral/Written Communications: Help prep students for interviews by generating STAR answers and practicing delivery.
  • Career Management: Use AI to identify likely interview questions and improve interview skills.
  • Leadership: Develop AI tools that can aid in career preparation and enhance interview readiness.

Certification Credits

NACE is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP™). This program qualifies for NBCC credit and covers content areas including Career Development, Technology in Counseling, and Assessment. Participants who complete the full program will receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to receive 5 NBCC Continuing Education Hours (CEs).
