The National Association of Colleges and Employers joined with other higher education associations in the Washington Higher Education Secretariat to provide comments about a proposed rule that would adjust certain fees charged by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
In a letter to Samantha Deshommes, chief of the Regulatory Coordination Division, NACE and the other associations noted their support for USCIS’s efforts to waive fees for certain categories of immigrants and to reduce the cost for asylum seekers but expressed concern about other aspects of the proposed rule, including an almost 40% increase in fees for many programs that are important to the higher ed community.
