Aligning Career Readiness Competencies for Recruitment Task Force

Committee Charge: The Aligning Career Readiness Competencies for Recruitment Task Force will: • ideate strategies to create a crosswalk between career services and URR that facilitates seamless alignment between the competencies and skills terminology used by universities and those engaged in recruiting. • conduct a comprehensive review of the current landscape for how: o Career services is preparing students to articulate their competencies in terms that are relevant to employers; o University relations professionals are considering and assessing core skills during the hiring process. • identify current best practices by career services to prepare students to articulate competencies and best practices utilized by URR to assess relevant candidate competencies during the hiring process. • consider how career competency articulation may positively impact inclusive and equitable hiring; • identify key challenges, gaps, and opportunities to enhance students’ articulation and evaluation of relevant skills and competencies. • explore strategies for career services to help students effectively communicate their competencies during a job or internship hiring process.
