Principles for Ethical Professional Practice Committee

Committee Description:
The Committee identifies issues related to ethical standards and practices impacting the profession, including the outcomes and equitable application for/with people of color and other marginalized communities. The committee will develop advisory opinions, as needed, in response to member inquiries.
Goals:
The Committee will work to ensure outcomes in support of the NACE Strategic Plan with a focus on the following goals: • Champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Champion equitable support, representation, and opportunities for all. • Lead Dialogue: Amplify the importance of the work of NACE and the professions by leading the dialogue among colleges, employers, policy makers, and the public. • Provide quality research, content and programming: Increase member value through progressive research, content, and programming that address the needs of our field.

Values. Ethics. They are engrained into the work we do every day, and the Principles Committee identifies issues related to ethical standards and practices impacting the profession. The Committee ensures NACE content related to ethical standards and practices is current and relevant, inclusive, and responds to member needs through the development of resources and programs. The committee will also develop advisory opinions, as needed, in response to member inquiries.
Timeframe:
7/1/2025 to 6/30/2026
• Committee work to kick off July 1, 2025 and continue through June 30, 2026. • Implement updates and content development throughout the year (July - June). • Actively participate in conference calls throughout the year.
Deliverables Expected:
• Collaboration across team to: o Review content and suggest updates to the relevant ethical content on NACEWeb.org. o Develop suggestions for program and resource development, as needed. o Respond to member inquiries, as needed. o Review advisories, case studies, and resources and identify those that may need legal review to ensure compliance with executive orders and laws. o Act as liaison to other committees and provide subject matter consultation, as needed. o Provide educational experiences based on the work of the committee at the NACE26 conference. o Participate in and communicate about Principles and the work of the committee on a regular basis with members.
