Committee Description:
The Committee coordinates the promotion, nomination, and selection process for the 2024 NACE Awards. This committee recognizes innovation, leading practices of excellence, and thought leadership of a diverse group of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the body of professional knowledge.
Goals:
The Committee will work to ensure outcomes in support of the NACE Strategic Plan with a focus on the following goals: • Champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Champion equitable support, representation, and opportunities for all. • Lead Dialogue: Amplify the importance of the work of NACE and the professions by leading the dialogue among colleges, employers, policy makers, and the public. • Expand and cultivate community: Grow and diversify membership and increase audience participation, sense of belonging, and engagement.

The Honors and Awards Committee is at the heart of recognizing the leaders who inspire us, showcasing those who demonstrate excellence, and championing the inclusivity within our community. The committee is responsible for driving the promotion, nomination, and selection process for the prestigious 2026 NACE Awards. These awards honor outstanding contributions, innovation, and impactful practices that elevate our profession and make a lasting difference. Timeframe:
7/1/2025 to 6/30/2026
• Kickoff: Committee work begins in early-to-mid August 2025 to set the stage and establish meeting cadence. • Nominations Open: Nominations for the awards will be initiated in November 2025 with a deadline of January 31, 2026. • Review & Selection: The evaluation and selection process will take place from February – March 2026. • Regular Meetings: Participate in ongoing conference calls throughout the year to provide feedback and ensure the process stays on track. • Awardees Celebration: Help shape the messaging and promotion around awardees to ensure they’re celebrated appropriately and equitably.
Deliverables Expected:
• Collaborate on the Nomination Process: o Work together with committee members to oversee the full nomination and selection process, including developing and refining selection rubrics to ensure fairness and clarity. You will also manage the overall flow of nominations and ensure that the process runs smoothly from start to finish. • Shape Award Criteria and Communication: o Provide recommendations on award criteria, including how to best communicate the call for nominations. Help ensure that guidance on submitting quality nominations is clear and accessible. This includes reviewing the award descriptions and feedback on how to improve clarity to encourage the submission of high-quality nominations. • Review Nominations & Make Selections: o Be an integral part of reviewing and evaluating nominations to ensure the most deserving candidates are chosen. You will recommend additional evaluation steps if needed to enhance fairness or improve clarity in the process. The committee will undergo a final review of its selections with a subset of the NACE Board of Directors to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest and that the selections are fair and representative. • Champion Inclusion: o Ensure that the awards process reflects the diversity of our membership by advocating for equitable representation among nominees and awardees. • Engage with Awardees: o Help guide the celebration and recognition of awardees, ensuring that their accomplishments are effectively communicated, their contributions honored, and the value they bring to the profession is fully recognized.
