  • Summary

    The word “influence” is quite prominent now with the rise of social media influencers. There are a few definitions out there depending on the source, but one aspect remains consistent—“influence” means to have an effect on someone or something to cause a desired outcome. We hear the word “influence” constantly when we think of cause and effect: the effect of exercise on living a long and healthy life; the effect of a celebrity posting about a brand and the subsequent rise in that company’s sales.

    During this presentation, the facilitators will provide you with the opportunity to better understand your key stakeholders and your own influential leadership style. The facilitators will lead you through two exercises that build into a conversation around next steps tailored to your specific needs. Next, they will lead the group in a short activity: mapping key stakeholders of your businesses and programs to understand the intersection of interest and power among those stakeholders. You will leave the session with an understanding of how to identify key stakeholders and their communication styles as well as with tips on how to influence.

    Following this program, you will be able to:

    • Recognize and articulate the role of influence in the recruitment process;
    • Identify and map key stakeholders within their recruitment ecosystem; and
    • Leverage personal communication styles to drive stakeholder alignment and buy-in.
