First Destinations for the College Class of 2021

The report for the college Class of 2021 provides information about outcomes for graduates at the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and associate degree levels within six months of graduation.

Outcomes include various types of employment (full or part time, contract, temporary), additional education, entrance into the military or other service, still seeking—either employment or further education—and not seeking employment/education. The report also provides starting salary data for those employed full time.

Data for 686,000 Graduates

Overall, 290 schools provided information about their 2021 graduates, representing approximately 686,000 graduates, including:

  • 509,000 at the bachelor’s degree level (24.7% of all bachelor’s degree graduates);
  • 142,000 at the master’s level (16.2% of all master’s degree graduates);
  • 25,000 at the doctoral level (12.8% of all doctoral degree graduates); and
  • 10,000 at the associate level (1% of all associate degree graduates).
