The AI Advantage: Renewing Career Practices, Rising Toward Efficiency and Effectiveness

Presenters from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will share their experiences and insights, innovative programming and resources, and data on utilizing AI across various aspects of career services and employer engagement. Through interactive activities like think-pair-share and reviewing case studies, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange strategies, challenges, and successes in using AI within their own roles. The presenters will also share an AI strategy reflection worksheet, AI in career toolkit (referred to as an AI Promptathon), and additional resources with attendees. Both presenters won a 2025 innovation award for their work in developing the AI Promptathon through the North Carolina NACE organization (NCACE).

Following this program, you will be able to:

• Empower participants to integrate AI into career services, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in supporting students, staff, alumni, and employers;
• Develop awareness of potential AI pitfalls and acquire strategies to navigate them in career services and individualized career conversations; and
• Examine AI implementation strategies and evaluate them against current practices to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
