During the spring of 2020, the employer relations (ER) leads from the nine undergraduate-serving University of California (UC) Schools started meeting weekly. The weekly gatherings provided a time to discuss how they were continuing to serve students and employers during the pandemic and new virtual environment. As the months and the pandemic continued, and racial tensions became more apparent, the team reflected on how to respond. The UC ER team decided to start a quarterly webinar series titled "University of California Campus Recruiter DEI Best Practices Series." The invitation for the event shared the following goal: “We are dedicated to creating equitable and inclusive experiences for all UC students and connecting them to companies that are committed to building anti-bias, anti-racist, and more inclusive working environments and recruiting practices.” This session will discuss the events and what the ER team has planned next related to DEI initiatives for employers.
