  Shawn VanDerziel, President & Chief Executive Officer, NACE

  As president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Shawn VanDerziel leads the association of 18,000 college career services professionals, university relations and recruiting professionals, and business solution providers that serve the community. As a leading voice on the employment of the college educated and advocate for equitable outcomes for all students, VanDerziel is featured regularly as an industry expert and is a sought-after speaker on a range of topics, including internships, hiring, career readiness, and trends in the workforce and college job market. Prior to joining the NACE staff, VanDerziel was with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for 23 years, where he most recently served as chief human resources officer and as chief of staff. His earlier roles included corporate recruiting with Norrell Corporation and a position in higher education as associate director of student enrollment at National Louis University.

  

  Shanna Fegley Esq., , Hoffman & Hlavac

  Shanna Fegely graduated from Penn State University in 2016 and earned her law degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 2019, where she served as Production Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology and was a finalist in the Nell Hennessy Moot Court Competition. Shanna practices before federal and state courts in Pennsylvania and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She specializes in civil rights and labor and employment law, focusing on defending municipalities, public officials, and corporations in employment litigation and civil rights cases. She has extensive experience with employment discrimination and harassment cases under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. Shanna also advises clients on employment and separation agreements, discrimination and harassment issues, employment policies, handbooks, and employee leave matters. Previously, Shanna served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Joseph F. Leeson, Jr., of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

  

  Emmanual Guillory, Senior Director, Government Relations, American Council on Education

  Emmanual A. Guillory is an advocate, policy expert, and motivational speaker, serving as senior director of government relations at the American Council on Education (ACE). He represents the higher education community to Congress, the White House, and federal agencies, focusing on the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, budget and appropriations, accreditation, student aid, institutional accountability, and accessibility. Previously, Guillory was director of student and institutional aid policy at the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and held leadership roles at UNCF. He spent a decade in the U.S. House of Representatives, most recently as a professional staff member on the Committee on Education and the Workforce. Recognized as one of The Hill’s top lobbyists in 2020 and 2021, he was also a federal negotiator for the Department of Education in 2019 and 2022 and served as president of the Committee for Education Funding in 2022. Guillory founded a nonprofit awarding scholarships to students and is a lecturer for the Archer Fellowship Program in The University of Texas System. He earned a B.S. in psychology from Texas A&M University, where he serves on the leadership council, and an M.A. in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University, where he is on the Alumni Board. He is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in higher education management at the University of Pennsylvania.
