Shawn VanDerziel, President & Chief Executive Officer, NACE
As president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Shawn VanDerziel leads the association of 18,000 college career services professionals, university relations and recruiting professionals, and business solution providers that serve the community. As a leading voice on the employment of the college educated and advocate for equitable outcomes for all students, VanDerziel is featured regularly as an industry expert and is a sought-after speaker on a range of topics, including internships, hiring, career readiness, and trends in the workforce and college job market. Prior to joining the NACE staff, VanDerziel was with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for 23 years, where he most recently served as chief human resources officer and as chief of staff. His earlier roles included corporate recruiting with Norrell Corporation and a position in higher education as associate director of student enrollment at National Louis University.

Joshua Kahn, Associate Director of Research and Public Policy, NACE
Josh Kahn, Ph.D., is the associate director of research and public policy at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). He earned his doctorate in educational leadership with an emphasis on quantitative research methods from the University of Oregon in 2018. His interests include using a wide-range of measurement and assessment techniques, strengthening systems and routines to enhance outcomes, and weaving together multiple sources of data to make informed decisions. At NACE, Dr. Kahn helps run the research department by developing and administering surveys, analyzing data, and disseminating results to the membership and the press. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Kahn was a special education teacher in Eugene, Oregon, and the Bronx, New York.

Mee Hee Smith, Manager, Early Career and Diversity Recruiting, XPO
Mee Hee Smith is an early career and diversity recruiting manager with XPO. She supports talent pipeline strategy for all roles within the company and leads the summer internship program at XPO. She started her career in healthcare as a perfusionist and transitioned into K-12 education, state and regional workforce development, and higher education career services, and is now in the transportation industry. In her time as a CTE Director, she was responsible for building out new educational pathways and employer advisory boards. As an executive director of career C=coaching and employer C=connections at Ivy Tech Community College, she was responsible for building employer partnerships to support work and learn experiences and create new training programs to build new talent pipeline strategies. She also served as a regional director with the Indiana Office of Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship where she supported expansion of U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeships and work and learn programs. Her work created the first high school certified nursing assistant apprenticeship sponsored by a workforce board in the state of Indiana. Smith has been a practitioner of DEIA and believes in expanding opportunities with talent pools that are not traditionally seen as a first option amongst employers. She has served as a panelist and speaker on talent pipeline, workforce development, and early career partnerships with various associations across multiple industries.
