Developing Public Safety Professionals of the Future With an AED: Attract-Empower-Dream
Do community public safety programs have an AED for the future? Created by public safety workgroups of the California State University (CSU) System, this workshop highlights how the CSU has fused traditional professional development techniques with emerging practices to meet the diverse needs of our campuses and beyond: Attract-Encourage-Dream. Learning Objectives: Recognize the contemporary recruitment and retention challenges public safety agencies are facing. Identify potential collaborations between academia, career preparation programs, and departments/agencies to raise awareness of the wide range of professional opportunities in public safety. Describe how all public safety specialties are shifting to providing proactive services beyond emergency response and how that has created opportunities to be more inclusive to all stakeholders.
