The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has published the new Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 in the Federal Register.
Among the form’s revisions are an expanded layout, improved instructions, and new data fields for the employee’s foreign passport information and contact information.
Employers must use the new version of the form for all new hires and for re-verifying current employees with expiring employment authorization beginning on May 7, 2013, at the latest.
