• Executive Order Raises Minimum Wage for Federal Contract Workers

    President Obama issued an Executive Order raising the minimum wage for federal contract workers to $10.10. The order is effective for new contracts beginning January 1, 2015, and will apply to new contracts and replacements for expiring contracts.

    It also includes provisions to ensure that tipped workers earn at least $10.10, through a combination of tips and an employer contribution.
