About the Presenter
Kate Brooks, Ph.D., Executive Director, Office of Personal and Career Development, Wake Forest University
As executive director of the office of personal and career development at Wake Forest University, Brooks is responsible for coaching and assisting students as they develop personally and professionally.
She is the author of You Majored in What? Mapping Your Path From Chaos to Career, which details her career coaching system for college students, and she has provided career guidance to college students for more than 20 years. She is a licensed professional counselor, a nationally certified counselor, and a certified distance career counselor. In addition to her blog, Career Transitions, for Psychology Today, Brooks has written several articles on career coaching for the NACE Journal.
Brooks holds a doctorate in educational psychology and a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from West Virginia University, and a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology from Gettysburg College.
