Recognizing Outstanding Achievement
The Chevron Corporation and the National Association of Colleges and Employers invite college career services practitioners to participate in this annual competition honoring innovative programming in career services.
About the Award
The Outstanding Achievement Award for Innovative Programs in the Career Services Field, commonly known as the Chevron Award, recognizes and honors a college member for the development of a groundbreaking program in the field.
About the Prize
The winner will receive a check for $1,000 and a handsome plaque symbolizing recognition of the individuals achievement.
The winning entry will be announced in Spotlight Online and the NACE Journal.
About the Selection Committee and Process
The Selection Committee will screen all entries and identify those entries it wishes to consider further. If your entry is selected for further consideration, you will will be asked to provide additional information about your program.
The Chevron Award is conferred on a merit basis. Thus, the Selection Committee may decline to select an award winner, or may conclude that one or more programs deserve recognition.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
All college career services practitioners who are members of NACE are eligible to participate. Entries will be evaluated on the following criteria. The entry must:
- Be innovative by demonstrating a significant change or new methodology in programming/service delivery and/or by generating new information that can assist in the improvement or implementation of other institutions services or programs.
- Have clearly stated objectives.
- Show evidence of achieving or having achieved the stated objectives (e.g. quantitative and/or qualitative measures).
- Be usable as a model for other career services professionals.
- Make a significant contribution to the field.
Programs submitted for consideration must have been implemented in the last three years.
How to Enter
To enter, submit no more than two, 8-1/2 x 11 pages containing the following information:
- Your name, title, institution, address, city, state, zip, phone, fax, and e-mail. Indicate your membership in NACE.
- The title of your program.
- The month and year the program was implemented.
- Overview of your program. Use the following headings and format. Headings must appear on your entry:
1. Problem/Need Statement
Briefly describe the problem or need you were trying to address
in creating the program.
2. Program Objectives
What specifically were you trying to achieve?
3. Program Description
4. Program Evaluation
Briefly describe the methodology you used to evaluate the program.
How well did you achieve the programs objectives? Please provide
statistics.
5. Program Outcomes
What were the specific outcomes of the program? Describe your institutions
commitment to the programs continuation.
