BETHLEHEM, PA—The National Association of Colleges
and Employers (NACE) recently released professional standards for university
relations and recruiting operations.
NACE unveiled the
standards to its membership at its annual conference in June.
Funded through a grant
from the NACE Foundation and developed with the assistance of NACE employer
members, the standards are designed to “provide clear direction for organizations
interested in recruiting new college graduates for their work forces,” says
Marilyn Mackes, NACE executive director.
“The standards are built
around four areas critical to recruiting success—program infrastructure, program
assessment, sourcing, and selection,” she says.
The standards address
the practices an organization should follow to ensure a sound university
relations and recruiting program, provide direction on the experience and
training that program managers and recruiting staff need, and offer
organizations a way to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of their
university relations and recruiting function.

Standards for University Relations and Recruiting are available at www.naceweb.org/recruiting/professional-standards-for-urr.aspx.
